Tournament officials today announced that Symetra Tour player Selanée Henderson has received the first of three exemptions into the Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic. Henderson, who was the runner-up on Golf Channel’s Big Break Atlantis, will compete alongside the best players in the world in the inaugural event, July 3-9, at Thornberry Creek at Oneida.
“I’m thrilled to be playing in the inaugural Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic in Oneida, Wisconsin,” said Henderson, a native of Apple Valley, California. “I’m grateful to the sponsors to be given this opportunity and I am honored to represent my native heritage.”
Henderson was a four-time Big West Conference First Team selection and won the 2006 Big West Conference Women’s Golf Championship while at the University of California-Irvine (2005-2008). She has played professionally on the Symetra Tour since 2012.
“Selanée has had great success at the junior, collegiate, and professional level. We are happy to provide her the opportunity to compete against the best players in the world right here at Thornberry Creek at Oneida,” said Josh Doxtator, Chief Operating Officer Thornberry Creek at Oneida. “She is a great role model for the next generation and an inspiration for other Native Americans pursuing their dreams.”
Two additional sponsor exemptions will be awarded in the weeks prior to the tournament.
A variety of advance ticket sale options are still available through the tournament website including Single Day Grounds Tickets ($25), Weekly Grounds Tickets ($70), Single Day Clubhouse Tickets ($60), Weekly Clubhouse Tickets ($150). There will be an increase in ticket prices at the gate. Children 17 and under are admitted to the tournament free of charge when accompanied by a ticketed adult.
